Hi :firstname: It's been nearly six months since
I wrote a newsletter, so I hope this one finds you very well.
I've been doing a lot of work for the charity "Ladder
to the Moon", showing care home workers how to help
residents (many with serious health problems, including dementia)
to flourish. It's been an amazing journey and I've seen some wonderful
things which will stay with me.
So. What have you been up to? Where are you in life?
How are you feeling about things? What's making you happy or sad
or nervous or sick to your stomach? Do feel free to write to me
(just reply to this email) and if I can offer anything helpful
I will. If it's appropriate I may annonymise my reply and post
it to my BLOG
too, so that others can share what useful insights or ideas there
Oh, and if you're on LinkedIn and you feel it's
appropriate, please endorse my skills on LinkedIn here.
How's your Work/Life Balance?
If you go to work early or stay late, or skip lunch breaks, or
you go in at weekends, or you take work home with you, then your
work/life balance is unusual.
If you choose that balance because you like it - then good for
you. But if not, then you have a work/life balance issue.
Are you Selling your Life?
If you do none of those
things, but you spend a lot of your off-work time worrying about
work-related issues, then you also have a work/life balance issue.
From my 17 year corporate career and also from my coaching work
with corporate clients, I know a lot about work/life balance - how
and why it goes wrong - and how to fix it. I'm writing a book on
work/life balance to be published in June and I am interested in
your thoughts. If you tell me about your situation and what you'd
like to see in the book, I can be sure to include it for you, and
as a thank you for your time, I'll give you a very special price
on the book when it's out. Just reply to this email with your thoughts.
I'm thinking of running online seminars on work/life balance, too.
Probably an hour or so in length, with no more than twelve people
and costing maybe £12. Do let me know if you're interested
I look forward to hearing from you.
Other People are in Charge of my Life!
Thanks for your insights about why you're not hiring a life coach.
I was particularly interested with this comment:
... there are no guarantees of success only more knowledge as
it all comes down to other people driving the situations.
Two things there. Firstly,
on the guarantees of success item - you are correct - there are
none. However, I go a long way to removing this risk for my new
clients in these ways:
